Lisa Scottoline
The next author to entice your intellect is Lisa Scottoline. Her new book is called “Look Again” Part of the reason I like this author is because she is not afraid to push the envelope. In most of Lisa’s books that I have read the character are part of the legal world; either lawyer or judge.
In this book a reporter, Ellen Gleeson is researching a story for her Newspaper. The focus is over worked nurses; this leads Ellen to the ICU in the local hospital. In the ICU she see a very sick boy who does not seem to get many visitors and upon inquiring about this child she finds that this child is abandon and very very sick. Ellen goes about the process to adopt this child. A few years later is mortified to find that the biological mother has reported this child kidnapped in a carjacking and that he is a missing child and she is looking for him. This sounds like every parent’s worst nightmare…but for reporter Ellen this nightmare does not end…upon trying to contact the attorney to find the birth mother, Anne she finds that the attorney has committed suicide and when she finds the name of the birth mother she find that this woman has had surgery that makes it impossible for her to have a babysize although all the proper channels may have been followed…why then did this happen? There is a choice to be made and does she make the right one?
